WILDERNESS STATE PARK
Wilderness State Park is open all year for a variety of activities.
Camping
The Park has 250 modern campsites found in two campgrounds the lakeshore and the pines. There are three modern toilet/shower buildings, electric service and a sanitation station.
For families and groups wishing to stay in the park without camping, Wilderness State Park offers six rustic cabins and three rustic bunkhouses. Each rustic cabin has 4 to 8 bunks and each rustic bunkhouse has 24 bunks.
Boating and Fishing
Both are available in Lake Michigan. The park has a boat launch for access to the lake, on Big Stone Bay.
Hunting
The park is also open to small and big game hunting, during the fall and winter seasons.
Other Winter Activities
Besides winter camping, for the adventuresome, the park offers a place to go cross-country skiing.
Location
The park is located on Wilderness Park Drive approximately nine miles west of Mackinaw City.
Trails
The park has 12 trails ranging from 1/4 mile to 5.5 miles.
